“Twenty hikers braved the prediction for showers to ramble up the South Fork Walla Walla River on Wed., April 25. As recommended, we agreed to meet back at the cars at 3 PM, and then drifted into several groups to hike different speeds and distances. The speedy explorers hiked about 8 - 9 miles, and the slowest flower photographers about 6. It was the perfect week for this hike, as the leaves were just greening up and the wildflowers were profuse. Although it was a cool, mostly cloudy day (no showers), several hikers did see snakes, but no rattlers. All agreed this is a fine hike that we should make a regular on our schedule. Just the scenic drive getting there is worth the trip.” – John Roberts
